Guy’s it is no secret that I love coffee. Over the summer I became addicted to Starbucks’s Cold Brew Coffee with Sweet Cream, except the cold brew was way too strong for me so I just got regular ole iced coffee with sweet cream. It was SO GOOD! And I like to think if you are going to have a Starbucks addiction this one is kiiiiinnnddaaa healthier then say a frap or even latte addiction. So I got really addicted, I mean really, and then summer ended and they stopped carrying sweet cream ( and also started looking at me funny when I would order an iced coffee with my mittens on as the snow blew around me in the drive through) so I was forced to come up with my own version and …..I nailed it.
So if you also became addicted to the cold brew with sweet cream drink and are a crazy person who wants to drink it in the winter ( or you just want to try a new way to drink your coffee in the morning) here is my recipe.
Start with an espresso shot ( I use this one from Tassimo)
While that is brewing, put three pumps of THIS syrup into a mason jar or cup of your choice. This syrup is the best syrup I have ever tasted ( and trust me I have tried a lot), it is made with cane sugar so it does not have that gross artificial taste. I order mine straight from Amazon!
Next put about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of water in with your syrup depending on how strong you like your coffee. Now fill the cup almost full with ice. Pour over your espresso shot and add in a healthy splash of cream.
If you are over iced drinks this is also delicious hot too. I add about a cup of hot water instead of the ice and do two shots of espresso to make it taste as strong as the iced one.
